Vishnu Swami’s personal collection of slokas, many of them taught to him by Srila Gurudeva.
The traditional way of learning philosophy in the Gaudiya Math temples is one-on-one mentorship: each day the guru gives the student a new sloka, tests them on it, and the student commits it to memory. That is how many of our main swamis were trained.
Many of the verses here come from Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja’s direct mentorship of BV Vishnu Maharaja (Vishnu Swami), together with a compilation of his guidance to others such as Achyutananda Prabhu and Brajanath Prabhu. The verses Srila Gurudeva marked are shown with a star, and the collection is divided into five levels.
Vishnu Swami first made this as a personal tool to keep track of the verses he knows. He decided to share it with the world, so that everyone can benefit from the mentorship he received from Srila Gurudeva.
